REACTOR is sponsoring Taco Wars in the historic Union Cemetery this Friday, April 15th, from 11 a.m. to 2 p.m.! Be ready for an awesome opportunity to discover some of the area's best taco technicians while visiting Kansas City's oldest public cemetery. This is your chance to watch local taco trucks go head-to-head, squaring off to find out who can claim to make the best taco in town! Three taco trucks will be competing for your vote but only one will be named the victor.
Agreeing to create the brand and design the pieces for this event was a natural fit for us at REACTOR because of our love for tacos! The design elements of this campaign represent the rich history of the Union Cemetery, and its connection with the Battle of Westport during the Civil War. The flags represent the feuding nature of the battle and, of course, the taco truck skirmish that will play out on Friday! The sombrero, hot sauce, limes, and chilis present in the design-work all lend themselves to the Mexican food culture surrounding the occasion and provide, not only a logo, but also an emblem or seal to represent the event. The fonts offer a western feel, while the colors are inspired by guacamole, salsa, tortillas, and cheese from your favorite Mexican foods.
Be there Friday to enjoy some amazing tacos and cast your vote for who should wear the crown for the best taco around! Your vote could win you a free lunch in May! Multiple winners will be chosen!
