“The Sausage King of Kansas City” Returns to REACTOR

A freshly grilled artisan sausage, ice cold drink, and LEGO® extravaganza. What more could you ask for on your Friday night? David Derr and Jessica Rush’s Weiner Wagon is returning to satisfy your taste buds at our upcoming June First Friday show Bricks Of Awesome.

When he was growing up, Derr never imagined he would earn the title of “The Sausage King of Kansas City.” Established in 2012, and with a little help from a self-built, red “wagon,” the Weiner Wagon is the duo’s hobby turned business. Both Derr and Rush are culinary school graduates that have brought their talents to the delectable handcrafted sausage business. The menu is best described as ever changing: Chicken Andouille, Boulevard Pale Ale, Chorizo, Bacon Sausage, the list goes on! These are just a few of the mouth-watering options that have been offered. Even vegan, vegetarian and gluten-free options are offered daily. The sky is the limit at the Weiner Wagon and it’s all made with local meats. That’s right, they source all of their meat and garnish ingredients through local vendors.

The Weiner Wagon is typically parked at the Overland Park Farmer’s Market, but it will be making a special appearance outside REACTOR for the June First Friday Bricks Of Awesome(as well as in the September FF show in the fall)! Prepare yourself to be served by “The Sausage King of Kansas City” himself! Come relish in Derr’s artisan sausages with us, no pun intended (Okay, it was).
